Creating a Kinder World for Wildlife

At Rockland Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation, a pending 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are committed to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured and orphaned wildlife. Through compassionate and responsible care we strive to foster a deeper connection between our community and the wildlife around us, creating a safer, more compassionate environment for all wild animals in Rockland County, NY.

What We Do

Rescue

At RWRR, we respond to calls for injured, orphaned, and sick wildlife throughout Rockland County. If you've found an animal in need, start here to learn what to do and how we can help.

Rehabilitation

Once an animal is rescued, the real healing begins. Our rehabilitation efforts provide care to help wild animals recover, and get the care they need from our network of experienced wildlife rehabilitators.

Education

Education is at the heart of everything we do. We offer workshops, community outreach, school visits and online resources to help people better understand and coexist with wildlife.

Support Our Work

Our rescue and education efforts are entirely fueled by the generosity of people like you. Whether you donate, volunteer, or spread the word, your support makes a direct impact on the lives of wild animals in our community.

At Rockland Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation we are committed to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured and orphaned wildlife. Education is at the heart of our mission. We believe awareness and understanding are key to coexistence, which is why we offer community outreach programs, educational workshops, and resources to promote humane solutions to human-wildlife interactions.  We aim to reduce the number of wild animals in need of rescue and rehabilitation by empowering members of our community with knowledge and kindness.

Through the integration of rescue, education, and advocacy, we inspire responsibility and action, working toward a future where wildlife and humans coexist in harmony.

Mission Statement

Vision

At Rockland Wildlife we see a future where fewer wild animals are injured, sick, displaced, and orphaned. By fostering a deeper understanding of local wildlife and promoting humane solutions to human-wildlife interactions, we strive to create a community that coexists with compassion and respect for all species.

As part of this vision, we are committed to establishing Rockland County’s first fully equipped and dedicated wildlife rehabilitation facility—a space where wild animals can receive the care they need and the community can come together to learn, connect, and protect the natural world.

Core Values

Compassion: We approach every animal and every situation with empathy, kindness, and respect, recognizing the intrinsic value of all wildlife, native and nonnative.

Education: We believe that knowledge is the foundation of coexistence. Through community education and outreach, we aim to minimize unnecessary harm to wildlife and inspire a more informed and compassionate public.

Collaboration: We partner with other rehabilitators, organizations, and members of our community to ensure the best outcomes for wildlife and strengthen the collective impact of our efforts.

Responsibility: We are committed to providing the highest standard of care for every animal, handling each case with skill and ethical consideration. We recognize our limits and prioritize sustainability in our operations, ensuring we do not take on more than we can responsibly manage.

Respect for All Life: We honor the lives of all wildlife, recognizing their right to live wild and free. Every rescue is rooted in our belief that every animal deserves a chance to heal and return to their natural environment. We believe that mindful, compassionate choices can reduce suffering and protect the planet we all share.
